Should the Bible Be Taught in Public Schools?

The Bible: A literary masterpiece

The Bible should definitely be taught in public schools, based upon the reality that America was founded upon Christian values and Christianity has its historical basis, documented in the Bible.
Consider the following reasons:

The Bible and its message have been influential, in the growth and development of America, throughout the entire course of history.

The values taught in the Bible, are appropriate for children of every race, creed and color, regardless of their age and academic status.

Why would we want to teach the values of other cultures and not our own values to children in public schools?

Would people prefer that children in public school be taught only other literature, that may or may not be, appropriate for them?

What age would be considered to be a good age to introduce children to the Bible, if it is not taught to them while they are in public school?

The Bible contains a message of the love of God and fellow man, offered freely to everyone, including children everywhere.

If the Bible is excluded from public schools, it does not make a lot of sense to teach other books either, since the Bible contains the most important teaching that they might ever be taught.

All other cultures need to be exposed to Christian teachings and values, even if they do not perceive or comprehend that need in their lives.

The Ten Commandments were written for all of humankind.

The message of the Bible can be understood by a child in public school.

Anyone who has ever read the New Testament in the Bible seriously and comprehended the truth contained therein, about the birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, knows the value of the Bible, with respect to the message of salvation for all mankind.

The Bible contains the historical message of how Christianity began and how the early church was started.
The Old Testament delves further into the historical background of Christianity. While it is more difficult for children to comprehend, it can be simplified in such a way that a public school age child can comprehend it.

The Bible is one of the primary teachings that should be given to children in public school. If we are going to teach children in public school anything, is it not advisable to teach them the Bible, because it is a literary masterpiece?
